ARTIST STATEMENT

My hand cut collages are inspired by the spaces that linger between the notes, noise and nonsense, juxtaposing disparate elements, perspectives and forms to create unexpected worlds, moods and meditations.

Formally educated and trained as an architect, my work explores theharmony and tension between space and structure in natural, man-made and imagined environments, challenging traditional perceptions of scale, positive and negative space, deconstruction and  reconstruction, and past and future. Each piece is comprised of elements sourced exclusively from magazines, books and photographs that are skillfully cut, composed, glued and digitally photographed for high definition reproductions.

I began collaging during the summer of 2020 to soothe my soul and satiate my active imagination while quarantining during lockdown. Since then, my collages have been exhibited in museums and galleries in France, Spain,Portugal, England, Ireland and the U.S., featured as album artwork for a variety of music genres, and published internationally in books and magazines. Along with visual collage, I create instrumental “sonic collages”,performing my original compositions and DJing at local events, festivalsand venues in the greater Boston area.
